Financial Network Technology, September 29, according to The Paper, citing foreign media sources, people familiar with the matter said that Apple has abandoned plans to increase production of the new iPhone 14 series this year after the expected surge in demand failed to materialize. Apple has told suppliers to withdraw plans to increase assembly of the iPhone 14 series by 6 million units in the second half of this year, people familiar with the matter said. Apple’s replacement plan is to produce 90 million units during this period, about the same level as the previous year and in line with Apple’s original forecast for this summer.

It was learned from supply chain stakeholders that supply chain manufacturers have not received a notification from Apple for the adjustment of orders for the iPhone 14 series, and the total number of orders has remained unchanged, but the iPhone 14 Pro series allocated more orders.

The above-mentioned supply chain source said that the order for the iPhone 14 series was 95 million units, and the iPhone 13 series last year was 85 million. The person also said that the short-term demand for the standard version of the iPhone 14 series is not as good as that of the Pro series, and some allocation adjustments will be made under the condition that the total order remains unchanged. The quantity of Pro is larger, but the total number of orders has remained unchanged. There is also no so-called plan to increase production or plan to cut orders now.
